Auckland International Airport serves as the gateway to New Zealand, and sees more than 14 million visitors through its doors a year. With roughly 70% of visitors in and out of New Zealand passing through, and catering to the needs of more than 20 international airlines, Auckland International is one of the busiest airports in the region. As New Zealand grows in popularity as a travel destination, the airport maintains its service standards, and remains one of the world’s best airports.
Auckland International Airport has only two terminals, one serving international flights, the other serving domestic flight. The two-floor International Terminal has a wide variety of bars, restaurants, fast-food outlets, and cafés on the second floor. On the same floor you will also find a plethora of shops selling travel accessories, gifts and souvenirs, toys, and jewelry. The Domestic Terminal provides the same kind of eating and shopping opportunities, but with a slightly smaller range to choose from.
To get from one terminal to the other, you have two options. If you have time on hand, you may want to take the 10-minute walk between the terminals. Alternatively, you can take the free Terminal Transfer bus service that operates every 15 minutes.
At both Arrival and Departure Areas, you will find shopping to be done. If their variety of shops do not interest you, grab a bite or enjoy a relaxing drink before you leave the airport or board your transit flight.
