Transavia France S.A.S., also known as transavia.com or Transavia France and trading as transavia.com, is a French-based low-cost airline operating as an independent part of the Air France-Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) group. The Paris-based arm of Transavia mainly operates scheduled and charter services to leisure and business destinations across the continent of Europe, with a few destinations in Asia and Africa. Its French headquarters is based in Paray Viellie Poste, France, while its head office is found in Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. Transavia.com or Transavia France was founded in November 2006, beginning its operations in 2007.

Currently, 40% of the airline is owned by its mother brand, Transavia, while 60% is handled by its partner, Air France. However, Transavia France keeps its stand as an independent low-cost carrier traveling to destinations within the continent.

How to Check In

Transavia France offers several options to check-in for their scheduled flight services. Online check-in is available through their website (www.transavia.com) for select flights. Online check-in is possible from 24 hours to four hours before departure. Check first though if the flight taken is available for online check-in. Self-service check-in kiosks are also available for use at the Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport. Kiosk check-in is possible from two hours to 40 minutes before flight departure. If checking in through a kiosk, make sure to bring and secure the booking confirmation code and to bring an identity card or passport. Both online and kiosk check-ins allow seat selection and check-in for groups, although for kiosk check-in, only a maximum of six people with the same surname is allowed. Meanwhile, the conventional airport check-in can be done through any of the airports served by Transavia.com. Make sure to check on the opening and closing times for check-in counters as this depends on the airport a passenger is taking. When departing from the Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport, check-in is allowed from three hours to 40 minutes before departure. Through the Paris-Orly or Lyon, check-in is allowed from three hours to 50 minutes before departure. From the Eindhoven Airport, Nantes, or Lille, 2.5 hours down to 40 minutes before departure is allowed. From Dubai, three hours to 60 minutes, Casablanca from 2.5 hours to 60 minutes, and from other airports not specified, from two hours to 40 minutes before departure time. Travelers and passengers are advised to check-in on time – even earlier – so as to avoid any undue stress and changes in schedule. Luggage can be dropped off at the airport if checking in online or through the self-service kiosks. This is allowed at the Amsterdam-Schiphol, Rotterdam, Hague, and Eindhoven Airports through the baggage drop-off counters.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Transavia France allows all its passengers a piece of hand luggage per adult/child boarding a flight. The luggage should not weigh more than 10kg, should not contain fluids, gels, and aerosols more than 100ml per item, and should follow the recommended dimensions as set by the airline. The recommended dimensions for hand luggage stand at 40 x 25 x 20 centimeters which can be allowed into the cabin, while the maximum dimensions should be at 55 x 35 x 25 centimeters. The latter will automatically be transported as hold luggage. Further, a bag containing important valuables such as travel documents, electronics, and/or medicine bags can also be brought in the cabin for free.
