StarFlyer Inc., also known simply as StarFlyer, is a Japanese airline headquartered on the grounds of Kitakyushu Airport in Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka Prefecture. It describes itself as a “hybrid airline” that provides a higher level of service than low-cost carriers, but maintaining operating costs that are still lower than full-service legacy carriers. The airline also has operating bases at Haneda Airport, Fukuoka Airport, and Kansai International Airport. Its frequent-flyer program is Star Link. Why Fly with StarFlyer

Baggage Allowance & Fees

For baggage allowance, StarFlyer passengers can bring carry-on baggage, in addition to personal items like handbags, camera, etc. Each passenger is entitled to one (1) baggage that must not exceed 10kg in weight and the total dimension of 115cm (55cm × 40cm × 25cm). If baggage does not meet these requirements, it will be considered a check-in baggage, subject to inspection. There’s also the ‘trustee baggage’ option, where the baggage must not exceed the total dimension of 203cm, maximum of 20kg, free of charge. Baggage that will exceed 20kg will have a corresponding excess baggage fee. There is no limit to the number of baggage per passenger, as long as all requirements are met. Musical instruments can be brought in the cabin, provided that it meets the airline guidelines. Charges may apply. Pets are not allowed to be brought inflight (domesticated dogs, cats, birds, etc.), but as checked baggage, and are subject to approval.

Passengers may choose their preferred seats. Prior to boarding, passengers may reserve seats using the confirmation provided upon check-in, then select their name and opt to use the “skip service” (a two-dimensional bar code is provided for those who purchase this), wherein they can proceed directly to the security checkpoint. Upon confirmation of itinerary, seat specification will follow where the passenger can pick and confirm seats. Changes may be applied even after confirmation (subject to availability).
