StarFlyer Inc., also known simply as StarFlyer, is a Japanese airline headquartered on the grounds of Kitakyushu Airport in Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka Prefecture. It was founded in 2002 but commenced operations in 2006. It was previously known as Kobe Airlines and was intended to being based at the new Kobe Airport. It changed its name to StarFlyer in 2003. It describes itself as a “hybrid airline” that provides a higher level of service than low-cost carriers, but maintaining operating costs that are still lower than full-service legacy carriers. The airline also has operating bases at Haneda Airport, Fukuoka Airport, and Kansai International Airport. Its frequent-flyer program is Star Link.
