Isles of Scilly Skybus is a British airline operating year-round scheduled services to the Isles of Scilly from Land's End Airport and Newquay Airport in Cornwall, as well as seasonal scheduled services from Exeter. The airline's head office is located in the Isles of Scilly Travel Center in Penzance, Cornwall.

The airline, formally known as the Isles of Scilly Skybus Limited, holds a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type B Operating License. It is permitted to carry passengers, cargo, and mail on aircraft, with fewer than 20 seats and/or weighing less than 10 tons. The airline is owned by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company and has 50 employees. The parent company also owns Westward Airways, and is operating shipping services to the same destination. Isles of Scilly Skybus was established in March 1984 and started operations in August 1984, originating as an air charter operator at Land's End aerodrome.

Destinations for Isles of Scilly Skybus include Land's End, Newquay, St. Mary's (base airport), and Exeter (seasonal flights only). Its fleet is comprised with three Britten-Norman Island and four De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter.

How to Check In

Isles of Scilly Skybus only allows check-in on a flight's designated departure airport. No other means, including self-service counters, and online and/or mobile check-ins, are available and allowed for any of the flights. Travelers are advised to arrive in the airport at least two hours before the scheduled departure time, and are required to check in one hour before the same scheduled departure time.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Isles of Scilly Skybus allows a maximum luggage weight of 15 kilos per person, per bag. The maximum dimensions for hold luggage are 75 x 50 x 30 centimeters. The said luggage allowance is not applicable for day trip passengers though. Further, hand baggage, carry-on luggage, or hand-carry luggage are not permitted in any aircraft, although a small bag containing personal belongings for use during the flight is allowed. In the same manner, an overcoat, a small camera, binoculars, or reading materials, are also allowed in the cabin. Anything of excess (to the luggage allowance) are to be charged by the kilo and will only be accepted if there is available space. If space constricts it, any excess luggage will be offloaded and will follow to the destination airport on the next available flight (if space again, permits).

Seating

Like many other small aircraft operators, Isles of Scilly Skybus does not provide seat classes. Generic seats and reservations are available though, and travelers are ensured of their safety before, during, and at the end of the flight.
