AirTran Airways was an American low-cost airline that originally headquartered in Orlando, Florida, but operated from its principal hub that was located in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Eventually, it was transferred to Dallas, Texas, after it was fully acquired by Southwest Airlines. The main cities that it served were Akron-Canton, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Ft. Myers, Fort Launderdale, Hartford, Milwaukee, Washington, and many others. The company operated approximately 700 flights per day; with a vast majority of them in the Midwestern and Eastern United States.

Before AirTran was fully integrated into Southwest Airlines on December 28, 2014, its fleet were made up of Boeing 717-200 and 737-700. Also, prior to the said date, AirTran served about 70 destinations across the US, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, and so much more. Its final flight was done via a Boeing 717-200 on November 30, 2014.
