Situated in eastern Asia, the People's Republic of China is the most populous country with 1.3 billion people. While the country is mostly known for its centuries-old structures and culture, the country is fast becoming a modern destination with the constructions of megacities Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin and Chongqing. China is a year-round destination country as it offers a variety of activities from ice festivals to tropical beach resorts. However, the months of May, September and October are ideal to visit China because of these months have the best weather. Mandarin is the most commonly used language in China although the country has more than 200 languages in use and countless local dialects. 

Visitors interested to tour the mainland China (Macau and Hong Kong not included) should apply for a visitors' visa, also known as Visa L, with the Chinese Embassy.  Those who are in transit and are interested to visit the mainland should also get a transit visa (visa G) and must show a onward tickets to their next destinations. From Manila, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific offer flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Guangzhou. On the other hand, China-based carriers China Southern and Air China are also offering flights to Mainland from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
